Responsible Business - Let's take responsibility

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

Here are some of the Responsible Business activities and achievements of this hotel:

• The repair of orphan house ( windows, doors, floors, walls, electricity, tile etc)
• Children painting completion organized with UNESCO. Winner won trip to St. Petersburg
• World No Tobacco Day. Action in the building: thousands of balloons with No smoking signs were dropped down from the 17th floor to the city. Posters/tent cards etc all over the building.
• Sponsored the eye surgery for 6 years boy
• Donated money to Beslan children
• Transferred money to “Tsunami “ children through the Brussels head office
• Sponsored the orphans visit to the “open days of all museums”, transportation, catering, performance etc.
• Participated in education program with the Save the Children. Bought more than 300 books in different spheres.
• Sponsored the Norwegian Refugee Council who is responsible for free dental clinics in orphan’s houses.
• Food, Clothes, linens ( from hotel) to orphans children time to time.

All the actions are done for guest’s money. All guests can donate at least 1 AZN and we use this money for all above mentioned points.
