Green Key Certification

Radisson Blu Hotel, Batumi has been Green Key eco-labelled since September 2012. Green Key is the largest worldwide eco-label for hotels. It is an external recognition of this hotel’s environmental actions in energy and water savings, waste management, environmental management, guest involvement, etc.

Green Key is conducted as a certification programme intended to increase the awareness of owners, staff, suppliers and clients of potential action towards environmental and sustainability issues.

Torbjörn Bodin, general manager at the Radisson Blu Batumi Hotel, stated, “our aim is to set a clear goal Environmental and Education for sustainable development of the owner, the staff the stakeholders (suppliers ) and the client ,  Reduction of the impacts of the facility , Economical management as a reduction of consumption induces a reduction of costs , Marketing strategy with the promotion of the label and the facilities awarded.”
 

Environmental objectives:

  • Save 10% on the water consumption before  the end of the year
  • Reduce the energy consumption per guest by five percent before the end of the year
  • Purchase organically produced foods for 10% of the total budget for foods

Think Planet
Think planet is Rezidor’s ambitious energy project aimed at reducing energy consumption by 25% in five years.

Earth Hour 2012
Global warming is the greatest threat facing the planet today. More than 5,200 cities and towns in 135 countries worldwide switched off their lights for Earth Hour 2011, sending a powerful message for action on climate change.


Red Cross Society
Radisson Blu Batumi Hotel and the Red Cross Society have an agreement that special donation boxes will be allocated on the reception desk, giving opportunity to donate for charity.


World Clean Up Day
The hotel announced its global partnership with World Clean Up 2012.  World Clean Up is a global activity where volunteers clean up stray garbage supported by high tech Waste Map.


Orphanage House
The hotel on a regular basis support the Orphanage Houses Each month we visit the house, bring food and other necessary items and spend couple of hours together with the Children.


Gingerbread House
A charity action is held in the Radisson Blu Batumi Hotel's lobby. Anyone from orphanage houses can visit the hotel and decorate the gigantic gingerbread house with cookies and candies. This year, many toys were gathered in the hotel lobby for donating to those in need.


Actively involved in local community charity contributions
Employees of the Radisson Blu Batumi Hotel are willing to participate in charity actions as well as fundraise for local charities.
