Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the Rezidor Hotel Group's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, employee and children's rights, health and safety, as well as environmental improvements. Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world. Some of the RB activities and achievements of the Radisson Blu Hotel Frankfurt:

• Yearly Blood donation in cooperation with the German Red Cross
• Networking with Kindernetzwerk e.V. and World Childhood Foundation - since the hotel opening in 2005 almost 8600 Euro have been collected and donated
• Disposal of leftovers is transformed into biogas -> electrical power and heat
• Environmentally certificated cleaning company -awarded with the "Blue Angel" and the "Nordic Swan"
• Operation of 90 % energy saving lamps- yearly reduction of CO² emissions up to 88 tons
• Yearly donation of clothes by our hotel employees
• Quarterly donation of soup for the Frankfurter Tafel e.V.
• Hotel Environmental Action Month - actions during the previous years : "Open Door Day for children", visits to environmentally relevant plants ( biogas, organic compost etc.), litter picking with employees, Donation for Bärenherz e.V., Charitiy Cocktail etc.
• Instead of christmas presents in the year 2006 we adopted the lion "Kiri" of the Frankfurt Zoo
• Adoption/ sponsorship of Israeli girl named Zipora for one year in kindergarten
• Yearly participation in the activity "Christmas tree" organized by the Frankfurter Kinderbüro (Office for children in Frankfurt)
• Yearly activity "Christmas in a shoe box" together with the association Geschenke der Hoffnung e.V.
• Participation at charity running event "Lauf für mehr Zeit" ( 5km run for charity across the city - for the benefit of Frankfurter Aidshilfe)
• Participation at ARQUE Sky Run for the benefit of disabled people
• Participation at the JP Morgan Corporate Challenge Run for the benefit of young handicapped athletes
• Responsible Business Training for ALL our employees - to enhance ecological and social awareness

High level of security standard for guests at the Radisson Blu Frankfurt-now certified as "Sprinkler Protected"

he Radisson Blu Hotel Frankfurt has just received an important third party award named "Sprinkler protected". Since 23rd October 2009 the most architectural remarkable building in the Frankfurt skyline can join such tuneful names like Hotel Adlon, Berlin or the German Reichstag (house of parliament) which have been awarded in the past. Only 3 times a year this award is given to buildings with exemplary preventive fire protection. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Frankfurt has earned this price for fulfilling all mandatory criteria by having a comprehensive and high-level safety concept e.g an exemplary vent system and ubiquitous sprinkler network consisting of about 4000 sprinklers in the whole building.

Mr. Andreas Stöckli, General Manager, was proud to representatively receive this prestigious award who symbolizes that guests find a safe and secure "home away from home" when staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel Frankfurt- which is definitely a competitive advantage.
