Making business responsible
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being, and health and safety.
Our hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of Childhood is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

2010
Distributed TV channels were updated and all adult movie channels were removed.
In February the hotel introduced a "Child Abuse Free Zone." Taking a stand against child pornography, the hotel became the first hotel in the world to utilise a sophisticated software from the Swedish company NetClean. The software prevents Internet users in the hotel from accessing known child pornographic pictures and movies as identified by the police via the hotel's Internet access. NetClean products aim to protect children on the Internet both in local and global environments.
2008
Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Gothenburg, received the "Swan" label in December, the highest environmental ranking in the Nordic region. Swan label is a third-party certification that demands the hotel have an annually updated environmental plan, environmental policy, high measurable goals and established routines. An external audit was conducted.
2006
Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Gothenburg, fosters and promotes a responsible working environment. From the beginning of 2006, RB is a standing point in all departmental meetings.
2003
Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Gothenburg has worked closely with Queen Silvia's Children and Youth Hospital. The hotel sponsors overnight stays for families, and all coins that are thrown into the Gothenburg hotel's pond are donated to the hospital. The hotel staff donates toys and books.
September is Responsible Business Action Month at Rezidor. Now hotels make an extra effort to organise social and environmental activities by engaging with employees, guests and the local community and raising awareness for RB and raising funds to support the corporate charity organisation, World Childhood Foundation, as well as local causes.
