Marine Museum & Al Hashemi

Launched on March 29th 2000, the Al Hashemi is the Guiness Book of Record’s largest wooden Arabic dhow. Mr Abdul Husain Mohammed Rafie Marafie’s passion for boats has truly made the Al Hashemi an icon in today’s Kuwaiti culture. Built by 250 skilled craftsmen over 15 years, it boasts a Grand Ballroom & Foyer of 1.200m2. The gold-leaf, wooden interior makes it not only grandiose but equally unique for any kind of product launch, exhibition, wedding, award ceremony, graduation, gala dinner or reception. The acoustic characteristic of the ship is not to be missed either and has housed the Gulf Jazz Festival, operas and piano concerts, just to name a few. Two large, built-in screen projectors can showcase live coverage of activities in the Foyer and a state-of-the-art sound system makes sure that all 1000 guests are able to listen. Our internal team of engineers and dedicated banqueting department make the Al Hashemi not only ideal for corporate planners but also for the individual customer.
