The Story of Ranchi
The city of Ranchi is the capital of the state of Jharkhand in eastern India. This modern city evolved out of the district of Ranchi dating back to the 19th century rule of the British Raj. Located on the Chota Nagpur Plateau, Ranchi overlooks lush, rolling hills and valleys, sporadic forests, countless natural falls and Suvarnarekha River. From atop Ranchi Hill, visitors can see the entirety of the city and its natural surroundings for miles around. Commercially, Ranchi is located in the midst of the rich steel and mining industrial belt of India.
