The Radisson Blu Hotel, Rostock is the preferred accommodation of the University of Rostock
The University of Rostock, the oldest and largest university in the Baltic Sea area, will celebrate its 600-year anniversary in 2019.
Pope Martin V gave his approval to the construction of this "stadium generale" on 13 Feb 1419, granting the school its own jurisdiction and administration. The University of Rostock opened on 12 Nov 1419, offering studies in the areas of law, medicine and philosophy.
Since then, the university has been one of the greatest strengths of the Hanseatic city of Rostock. The university currently has 5,000 employees and 15,000 students at nine facilities.
