The Radisson Blu Hotel, Rostock is the preferred hotel of the University of Rostock
The University of Rostock, the oldest university in the Baltic Sea area, will celebrate its 600-year anniversary in 2019.
Pope Martin V allowed the construction of this "studium generale" on 13 Feb 1419, granting the school its own jurisdiction and administration. Here, the University of Rostock began lecture in the areas of law, medicine and philosophy on 12 Nov 1419.
Since then, the university has been a superb asset to the Hanseatic city of Rostock. The university currently has 5,000 employees and 15,000 students at nine facilities. Students enhance their knowledge with over 70 different study courses, covering the fields of agricultural and environmental faculties, computer science, electrical engineering, law, engine building, mathematics, natural sciences, philosophy, theology, economy and social sciences.
A research and conference destination
The university faculty aids the development of new research and technology, focusing on such topics as “life, light and material,” “maritime systems,” “growing old successfully” and “knowledge – culture – transformation.” The high number of seminars, meetings and international congresses drive research and development.
Over the years, the Radisson Blu Hotel has been a capable host in supporting the university's science facilities. The hotel is close to the University of Medicine Rostock as well as all other university facilities. It is a preferred partner hotel for guests and employees of the University of Rostock.
