The Brage Open Air Museum
Featuring several traditionally constructed buildings congregated around a public square, the Brage Open Air Museum gives visitors a taste of Old Vaasa. The buildings, customs and activities all reflect those of the Swedish-speaking population of the area from the 1700s forward.
The buildings of the Open Air Museum, nine in total, originally came from a settlement 90 kilometres south of Vaasa. In an effort to showcase the traditional life of the region's people, the buildings moved to Vaasa in the early 20th century as an exhibit.
Some of the buildings include a peasant's home, fisherman's cottage and a seal-hunting museum.
