New Horizons Film Festival

An annual film festival held in the city of Wroclaw since 2001, New Horizons, has grown to become one of Poland's most important film festivals, championing innovative and individualist films.

The Radisson Blu Hotel, Wroclaw is located just 15 minutes walk from the Wroclaw Puppet Theatre, the annual centre of the New Horizons film festival. In 2012, New Horizons will be held from 19th to 29th July and film fans can stay at this upscale hotel in Wroclaw during the festival.

About New Horizons
Along with the Warsaw International Film Festival, New Horizons has grown to become one of the most influential film festivals in Poland in the 21st century.

A central part of the film festival is its Audience Award. Audiences can vote for films in three categories: New Horizons, Polish Short Films and European Short Debuts. The winner of the New Horizons Audience Award is guaranteed distribution in Poland.

Films previously shown at the festival include Michael Haneke's Palm D'Or winner The White Ribbon, Francis Ford Coppola's Tetro and Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In.

New Horizons also hosts annual retrospectives at each film festival. In the past, this has included the work of French auteur Jean-Luc Goddard and Monty Python member-turned-film director Terry Gilliam.
