Gautrain

The Gautrain is an 80 kilometre-long railway system connecting the major metropolitan areas of South Africa's Gauteng Province. Linking Johannesburg, Pretoria and the OR Tambo International Airport, the train was planned ahead of the 2010 FIFA World Cup to ease traffic on the highway linking the two cities.

Situated directly across from the Sandton Gautrain Station, the Radisson Blu Gautrain Hotel is an ideally located Johannesburg hotel from which to explore the surrounding city or nearby Pretoria.

Explore the Johannesburg region on the Gautrain
Since the final tracks of the Gautrain line were laid in 2012, thousands of commuters, locals and travellers from all over the Gauteng Province have been enjoying the benefits of this fast and economical link. Travelling at speeds of up to 160 kilometres per hour, the Gautrain slashes travel time between Johannesburg and Pretoria to only 42 minutes.

This modern and efficient transport link gives travellers the option to easily explore the city centres of Pretoria and Johannesburg, as well as navigate their way to top attractions such as Ghandi's House and the Johannesburg Zoo. The train also provides a fast and simple link to the OR Tambo International Airport. Formally known as Johannesburg International, OR Tambo International is the busiest airport on the African continent and is the main hub for domestic and international travel to and from South Africa.
