Responsible Business - Let’s take responsibility!
Hotel practices Responsible Business
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a program called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. That tradition continues with Responsible Business in Tallinn.
RB activities include:
- Back to School programme
Cooperation with Ala Põhikool
Cooperation with Ala Põhikool began when the hotel took part in a regional project to support schools by engaging young opinion leaders in school activities. Together with young artists, children decorated their boarding school rooms. The hotel provides free accommodation for boarding school children when visiting Tallinn and organises regular charity collections among employees to raise books, games and necessary inventory.
- Green Key eco-label since 2002 - the hotel’s environmental objective is to reduce the negative impact on the environment by involving employees and guests to achieve the best outcome.
- Support for the University of Tartu Hospital Children’s Fund
World Childhood Foundation
The hotel conducts regular fundraising activities and features a collection box for the World Childhood Foundation at hotel reception. The Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is proud to have the World Childhood Foundation as its international charity organisation since May 2007. The World Childhood Foundation is a non- profit organisation dedicated to serving the most vulnerable children in the world, including street children as well as sexually abused and exploited children.
