Celebrate the New Year with the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie. The concert will be held on 30 Dec 2013 at 19:30 in the Tenne Fleesensee.
First class concerts, the impressive atmosphere of historic architecture and a beautiful landscape as far as the eye can see; all of these delights are hallmarks of Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. With around 120 concerts in more than 80 different churches, castles and concert halls, Festspiele MV is the third-largest music festival in Germany.
In the past year, more than 72,000 classical music lovers have attended the festival to see some of the best talent in the world. Names like Kent Nagano, Daniel Müller-Schott and Julia Fischer frequent the festival. Rising stars, aptly named the "Young Elite" of international chamber music, are often found and showcased at this festival. One of the young artist prize winners of 2009 is pianist Alice Sara Ott. In 2008, famous violinist Daniel Hope became the festival's artistic fellow. Since 2011, he represents the Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as artistic director.
In between, the festival will travel through the unspoilt nature and deeply historical cultural landscape of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern; playing in idyllic farmhouses, small-town churches, and old cobblestone barns. Some of the venues, such as the small town of Ulrichshusen (which is inhabited by only 35 people), have long held an important place in the European music scene. Every year, however, new sites are chosen for the festival. This year, 14 new sites have discovered.
Often, the artists mingle with the hotel guests and together enjoy a lovely evening. Indulge in an intimate musical experience of the highest artistic noveau with Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, instead of the overwhelmingly large and hectic nature of the conventional concert hall. Discover the fascination of combined golf and music! The artists from the Neubrandenburger Philharmonie orchestra and Conductor Stefan Malzew are playing together with over 100 golfers on the driving range at the Castle Garden on 7 Sep 2013. Choreography will be done by Fleesensee Golfonics.
