Green Key Certification
Radisson Blu Resort, Sharjah–part of the Rezidor Hotel Group, one of the fastest growing hospitality companies worldwide–further enhances its commitment to Responsible Business, announcing that the hotel recently received Green Key certification.
Rezidor Hotel Group becomes the first international hotel group to achieve full Green certification across all of its hotels and brands in the UAE. Its six hotels–the Radisson Blu Resort in Sharjah, the Radisson Blu Hotel and the Park Inn on Abu Dhabi’s Yas Island, and Radisson Blu hotels in Dubai Deira Creek, Dubai Marina and Dubai Media City–are the only hotels in the country to currently have Green Key certification.
Green Key® is a global eco-label for the leisure industry. In order to gain Green Key certification, hotels have to fulfill a list of environmental requirements covering a wide range of criteria, from environmental demands to demands on policy, availability of action plans, education and communication. Obtaining the Green Key shows the sense of responsibility an organisation commits to its surroundings and society.
The company-wide Responsible Business programme of the Rezidor Hotel Group was launched in 2001 and comprises responsibility for guest and employee health and safety, respect for social and ethical issues within the company and reduced environmental impact. The Rezidor Hotel Group was also the first hotel group to offer guests carbon offset possibilities.
