Gothenburg half marathon
Runners looking to participate in the Göteborgsvarvet should plan their training schedule to culminate in May. This world famous half-marathon has been an annual early summer fixture since 1980.
The Göteborgsvarvet begins outside the athletics arena in Slottsskogen Park, home to the Way Out West festival held in August each year. The route takes runners across the Älvsborg suspension bridge, then along the north bank of the Göta älv River before looping back over the Göta Älv Bridge. Runners then make their way through the inner city, before reaching the finish back at the stadium. During the relay the runners pass right underneath the tip of the hotel, giving guest front row seats from the terrace of the hotel’s restaurant Cuckoo’s Nest. Enjoy great food and drinks whilst cheering on friends or family.
