Haga and Linnéstaden
Haga and Linné is among the oldest neighbourhoods in Gothenburg, located near Lindholmen. The easiest way to reach it is by taking the Älvsnabben river ferry that runs frequently between Rosenlund and Lindholmen, which is only a four-minute commute. Haga is well known for its café culture, and during the summer there is plenty of cosy outdoor furniture placed on the cobblestone streets. Small, unique shops offer everything from vintage clothing to interior décor. The Andrea Långgatan is also a perfect place to experience nightlife. Visit a nearby pub for micro-brewed beer, enjoy music at a DJ pub or stop into a secondhand shop to find unique treasures.
For added adventure, climb the 194 steps up to the Skansen Kronan, a 17th-century fort that now serves as a popular vantage point over the city. Alongside Haga lies Linnegatan, an historic street lined with excellent restaurants and bars. Outdoor dining facilities feature cuisine from around the world and a vibrant nightlife that suits all ages and budgets. Additionally, The Slottskogen park offers nice walks in the woods and a mini zoo with elks, birds, penguins, seals, horses and other farm animals.
