Responsible Business - Let's take responsibility

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of Rezidor's broader commitment to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. This hotel is engaged with both local charity groups and Rezidor's corporate international charity organisation, the World Childhood Foundation, whose mission is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

Responsible Business activities and achievements:

  • All employees are trained in Responsible Business practices within the first three months of employment.
  • The hotel has implemented a smoking policy that limits permitted smoking areas (one separate area in the hotel).
  • All employees accomplish first aid and defibrillator training.

HEAM (Hotel Environment Activity Month):

  • 2004 - Donated money (DKK 80.000) to purchase a service dog for a disabled person.
  • 2004 - Supported UNICEF vaccination campaign in Laos (DKK 200.000)
  • 2005 - Supported the Danish Psychiatry Fond (DKK 50.000)
  • 2005 - Supported overweight children with health problems (DKK 50.000)
  • 2006 - Helped with integration of children with  ethnical backgrounds other than Danish
  • Ongoing effort to collect money for children in Pakistan through "Save the Children."

Health Programme:

  • All employees are offered free classes on smoking cessation.
  • Employees have opportunities to exercise while at work, and each year the hotel participates in the annual DHL five-kilometre race.
  • The canteen offers well-balanced daily fare.
  • Professional massage is offered at favourable prices to all employees.
