Sauna Helsinki

Whether visiting Helsinki for business or pleasure, a trip to a smoke, steam or wood-burning sauna comes highly recommended - particularly in winter when temperatures drop and the ice, snow and cold sets in.

At the Radisson Blu Seaside Hotel, Helsinki guests will find not one but two saunas to relax and unwind in. One of the saunas at this hotel - the Katto Lounge - is set in a two storey rooftop area with panoramic harbour views. Guests who are looking to mix with Helsinki's locals at a public sauna however will find plenty of historic saunas in the nearby city centre too.

Public Saunas in Helsinki

As the Finish capital, Helsinki has many public saunas - some with swimming pools and recreational facilities like chess rooms or bars too. In particular, visitors will find plenty of saunas in the city centre near Helsinki's shopping districts. Saunas to visit include:

  • The Kotiharjun Sauna - the last of Helsinki's wood-burning saunas, at Kotiharjun there are separate facilities for male and female visitors.
  • The Yrjonkadun Uimahalli - visitors will find steam and wood burning saunas at this art deco bathhouse where patrons are encouraged to bathe in the nude.
  • The Kuusijarvi - out by Vantaa, this traditional smoke sauna is widely considered to be one of Helsinki's best.
