Responsible Business - Let's take responsibility

We’re proud to be a Responsible Business

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Radisson Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a program called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, cultural heritage, employee and children’s rights, health and safety and environmental improvements.

The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the corporate international charity organization supported by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to defend the rights of the child and promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children all over the world.

RB activities and achievements of this hotel include

  • Earth Hour – On one day every March, we join the WWFs clima protection campaign and turn off the unnecessary lights in our hotel. During this time, candlelight brings a romantic coziness to our lobby, restaurants and bars.
  • Christmas Wishing Tree – In December, we put a Christmas tree in the hotel lobby with notes hanging on it. These notes contain wishes of the seniors of the Seniorenresidenz am Steigerwald. Our guests and employees had the opportunity to take a wish from the tree and give the corresponding present to our receptionists. We organized a Christmas party for the seniors and distributed their fulfilled wishes.
  • Food Bank at the "Tafel" in Erfurt – Twice a year, our hotel kitchen supports the food bank with a hot meal for the poor people.
  • Easter at the Family Center in Weimar – On Maundry Thursday, the team of the Radisson Blu Hotel, Erfurt supported the SOS family center in Weimar by bringing cake and sandwiches to the children and their parents.
