My wife and I have stayed at the Blu for the past three years for both business and leisure and have never been disappointed. The rooms are beautiful and clean, and the hotel services are exceptional.

"Magical 3rd of July stay"

Magnificent, modern hotel with fantastic location near Grant Park, Lake Michigan and Navy Pier. We requested a cot and was upgraded to a suite with sofa bed and a cot. Was treated like family by all employees. Well equipped modern health club.

I stayed here for 4th of july weekend great place to stay near everything. very beautiful , clean and friendly staff. had a great time my son loved it.. rooms are amazing..fridge is loaded with snacks and liquor..

"BAIT AND SWITCH"

All but ruined our trip to Chicago. Website states Late Check Out at 6pm is available upon request for free. I requested it at check-in and was told this requested was submitted and would be ok. We planned our trip accordingly which meant taking train into city instead of car because we would be able to come and go on our last day and leave our belongings in our room all day. NOPE - at check-in they said they didn't see a request for late check out and they weren't aware of a 6pm check out option. I pulled it up on my cell phone and showed the staff. They still didn't care and said they didn't have the availability to allow it. Spent our last day in Chicago lugging 3 bags around with 3 young kids. Won't ever trust this hotel with a family trip again. Also, don't even touch a single can or food in their beverage fridge and keep your kids out of it. Fridge is set with sensors that charge your account just for picking an item up and setting it back in.

Cheryl, Thank you very much for taking the time to write us bout your stay at the Blu. I am truly sorry to hear of your late check out discrepancy. Did you speak with someone in person about late check out at our front desk, or via email? It sounds like it was via email as you had it on your phone. I apologize for this inconvenience, as late check out is not a guaranteed request. I am sorry to hear that you also had to carry your bags around as we offer luggage storage and would have happily stored them for you until you were ready to leave for the airport. In regard to the mini bar, this is sensor activated so that should a guest choose to consume an item, we are aware of it. If in fact you did not take an item we would easily remove the charge from your bill. I sympathize with your frustration and I would like you to personally know that his in no way reflects our Yes I Can service culture. Should you want to give us another try, we would love to welcome you back. Thanks for choosing the Blu and I hope that you have a good rest of your week! Best, Bob Shelley General Manger

"Enjoy and feel welcome"

We chose this hotel due to its excellent location downtown Chicago, and its remarkable architecture. We were greeted by the doorman with the words "welcome to Chicago's best hotel", and indeed, a most enjoyable experience: room in perfect condition, personnel very friendly. Not our last stay in this hotel.
