A trip to the award-winning Kongeparken amusement park is a great day out for all the family. Based only a 20 minute car ride from your hotel in Stavanger, the vast amusement park can be found in the Norwegian village of Ålgård.

Featuring over 50 rides and attractions, Kongeparken offers hours of fun geared toward 3-12 year olds - although the park is entertaining for big kids of all ages. Meet Bamsekongen, the king bear, and explore his castle and sprawling kingdom of Kongeparken.

Freia Chocolate Factory, where you can craft your own chocolate, and Barnas Brannstasjon, the kid's fire station, are two of the most popular attractions. As well as the 1,000 metre long bobsled track - the longest in Norway.

History of Kongeparken
The popular amusement park opened its doors in May 1996, but only grew to full popularity once it was bought by the famous Lund family. The Lunds were the first to import teddy bears from the United States back in the late 1800s, and this gave the park its theme - Kongeparken is the only teddy bear themed park in the world.

Today visitors to Kongeparken can meet a whole host of bears, including the king, queen, the mischievous Brumle and his sister Brumleline. There's even a BearBotel where you can check in your favourite teddy for some rest and relaxation, whilst you enjoy the attractions.
