Thrill seekers will find their need for speed quenched after spending a day at the high-octane Bahrain International Circuit. From glittering events to adrenaline pumping experiences, Bahrain International Circuit offers an unforgettable day out at the races for all the family.
A thirty minute drive from our Manama Hotel, Bahrain International Circuit is one of the country's most popular tourist attractions.
Experiencing the circuit
The famous motorsport venue was initiated by the Crown Prince, Shaikh Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa - honorary president of the Bahrain Motor Federation - and opened in March 2004. The Bahrain Grand Prix took place in April 2004, and was the first Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East.
While the Grand Prix is a highlight in the Bahrain International Circuit's calendar, highly-competitive events run throughout the year and include the Speed Weekend, the National Racing Festival, and the FIA World Endurance Championship. Family friendly activities run alongside many events, so even the kids are kept entertained.
Want to experience the track for yourself? Bahrain International Circuit offers a range of experiences for visitors such as a circuit around the track in a high-speed car driven by a professional driver, a circuit tour, karting and the opportunity to take part in a drag race.
In 2009 Bahrain announced a £1.2 billion investment in the land surrounding the circuit, and plan to develop 1million squared metres of business, entertainment and educational space.
