Vermanes Park Riga

Vermanes Park in Riga is the city's oldest public garden, covering an area of around 12 acres in the city centre. Created in 1814, the park was originally called Wohrmanns Garten, after the mother of the Prussian Consul General to Riga, who financed and provided land for the park.

Popular with Riga locals as well as travellers, Vermanes Park features a restaurant and a small children's playground. Vermanes Park often hosts free concerts and other events throughout the year, so there is always something to see and do - even if it's just playing a game of chess in the concert area.
