Summer in Brussels

Enjoy a memorable summer break at Radisson Blu EU Hotel Brussels

With its enviable city centre location, the Radisson Blu EU Hotel offers ideal accommodation for summer breaks in Brussels. A plethora of attractions, like Brussels Beach and the famous Flower Carpet, is available just around the corner.

Flower Carpet
Every two years, the famous and historical Grand Place becomes one of Europe’s largest flower carpets in celebration of the spring. The flower carpet is installed for one weekend during Assumption Day and access to Grand Place is free to the public. You can also choose to experience a panoramic visit of this spectacular exhibition to make your Brussels experience unforgettable.

The carpet, which spans an area of 77 x 24 metres, is planned up to a year in advance. Scaled reproduction projects take place to estimate the number of flowers and colours for the carpet. The life-size drawing is then put on a transparent and micro-drilled plastic sheet for approximately 120 volunteers to install over one million begonias in just four hours. This innovative and unique attraction is easily accessible from the hotel via public transport.

Brussels Beach
Spend amazing summer holidays in the heart of Europe at Brussels Beach. Each year, the banks of the Canal of Brussels become an urban beach in the summertime. The beach boasts huts and deckchairs, and also makes use of 3,000 tons of sand brought from the North Sea and spread over a distance of nearly one kilometre.

In addition to beach activities, street art shows and concerts also take place at Brussels Beach. The aim of the beach is to benefit residents, visitors and tourists on vacation in Brussels, allowing them to discover the Canal District.
