Aarhus Concert Hall
Set across 35,000 square meters in the heart of the city, Musikhuset Aarhus is officially Northern Europe’s largest concert house. Boasting no less than six grand halls and counting the likes of the Danish National Opera among its residents, the Concert Hall Aarhus is a must-visit destination for lovers of the performing arts.
Experience live concerts, theater and shows
Originally built in 1982, the hall underwent a significant expansion in 2007 in order to accommodate a variety of cultural institutions under one roof. As a result, you can experience over 1,500 events a year, ranging from children’s theater productions to shows by critically acclaimed international performers.
In addition to the Danish National Opera, the concert house is also the home of the Royal Academy of Music and the Aarhus Symphony Orchestra. The latter puts on live concerts almost every Thursday throughout the year, and although proceedings are carried out in Danish, it is nonetheless a fabulous spectacle to behold amidst the grand surroundings of the Symphonic Hall.
In the middle of the complex you’ll find ‘Filuren’, the concert hall’s very own theater where you can enjoy live plays catering to all ages.
Grab a bite and sleep tight
You can also indulge in delicious meals and light refreshments at the Johan R. café and restaurant, with the resident chefs renowned for their unwavering loyalty to fresh, seasonal ingredients. You can even organize an event at the venue and take advantage of their excellent catering.
Located within a stone’s throw of the Concert Hall, the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Aarhus makes the ideal holiday base. Enjoy easy access to some of the city’s top landmarks, as well as spacious rooms, free Wi-Fi and no less than two in-house restaurants. There’s even a fully equipped gym complete with fitness instructors for those who like to keep active whilst on the move.
