The BMW Berlin Marathon
Every September thousands of runners pound the streets of Berlin during the BMW Berlin Marathon. From world champions to running club members, and fun-runners in fancy dress, they all line up to compete in the challenge, cheered on by millions.
The marathon is a city-wide road race that usually takes place on the last weekend of September. It starts and finishes near the Brandenburg Gate, passing through the Mitte district. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Berlin is located in this historic part of Berlin, making it a convenient option for spectators and runners alike.
Magic Marathon MomentsAlong with other races including the Boston, Chicago, New York, Tokio and London Marathons, it forms one of the World Marathon Majors. Known for its even surface, mild fall weather and encouraging spectators, it has had the most marathon world records, for both men and women, set on the course. Previous winners, such as Haile Gebrselassie, Dennis Kimetto, Tegla Noroupe and Naoko Takahashi, have all broken world records here.
