Radisson Blu Hotel, Bristol

Responsible Business

Stay at this green hotel
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a programme called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being, and health and safety.

The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the World Childhood Foundation, an international charity organisation supported by the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group. The mission of the foundation is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world. This year Carlson Rezidor has also decided to support the children's charity Variety. This charity is about increasing positive experience for children and young people throughout the UK who are sick, disabled or disadvantaged.

Responsible Business activities include:
Tree planting with Tree Bristol
For the past two years, a team from the hotel has volunteered with Tree Bristol to spend the day planting trees.

Quids for Kids
In 2013, the hotel is participating in Quids for Kids, which gives guests the option to add GBP 1 to their bill. The money collected at the end of the year will be equally divided between Variety and the World Childhood Foundation.

Responsible Business Action Month
Every year, the hotel participates in the Responsible Business Action Month to get involved with community activities and sporting events.

Hotel receives silver in the Fair-trade Business Awards
The hotel is proud to receive the silver award at the South West Business Awards for Accommodation. This was a fantastic achievement and we hope to continue supporting fair-trade and local products in the future.
