HOTEL PRACTICES RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Radisson Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a program called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, cultural heritage, employee and children’s rights, health and safety and environmental improvements.
RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS OF THIS HOTEL INCLUDE
- Energy savings – Outfitting the underground parking garage and kitchens with motion detectors to turn off lights at low-traffic times
- Environmentally friendly supplies – Maintaining high standards of cleanliness with the use of detergents with natural ingredients and other products bearing environmentally friendly labels like “Blue Angel”
- Keeping the grounds neat – Regular litter-removal patrols of the driveway and sidewalks by hotel apprentices
- The paperless office – Reuse of copy paper, outsourcing of accounting, making the correspondence process completely digital
