For fans of rock and heavy metal music, Britain's annual Download Festival is a must-see event during the summer festival season. Since it began in 2003, the festival has attracted some of the biggest names in metal and rock, including the likes of Metallica, Iron Maiden, Aerosmith, Korn, Paradise Lost, Slipknot, Pendulum and Marilyn Manson.
The popular 3-day event is held at the Donington Park motorsports circuit in the middle of scenic Leicestershire, not far from cities such as Derby, Leicester and Nottingham. The site is easy to access from the A50 and M1/M42 motorways, and there are good public transport links between the nearby cities and East Midlands Airport.
