Green hotel in Hamburg strives to be a responsible business

Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a program called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety. That commitment continues at this green hotel in Hamburg.

The hotels are engaged with both local charity groups and the Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group corporate international charity organization, the World Childhood Foundation. The mission of the foundation is to defend the rights of the child and to promote better living conditions for vulnerable and exploited children at risk all over the world.

Earn the Green Key with a green stay

In June 2012, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Hamburg Airport was awarded the Green Key. Green Key is the label of the FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education) and has been awarded to 1,800 tourist facilities in 30 countries. It is based on ecological, social and technical criteria that go beyond statutory environmental requirements of individual countries. Green Key honors not only the current state of environmental compatibility of a building, but also special incentives for future improvements. Long-term planning and a steady development towards sustainable economies are at the forefront of consideration for this award.
