Istanbul Cooking School
Turkish cuisine spans a broad spectrum of flavours, drawing inspiration from countries across the world where Turks have historically lived through the ages. From the long reach of the Danube River to the Arabic Peninsula, Turkey's rich cuisine draws inspiration from places far and wide.
To better understand how to grasp the concepts of true Turkish dining and to create flavourful masterpieces of your own, the Istanbul Cooking School is an essential stop during your holiday in Turkey. The school is based near the Taksim Centre and can be reached by car in 20 minutes from the Radisson Blu Conference & Airport Hotel in Istanbul.
Led by seasoned master chefs Oguz Tuncbilek, Begum Atakan and Pinar Aksu Genlik, each half-day course starts with a tour of local bazaars and food markets around Istanbul to source ingredients and learn about the city's history, before venturing into the kitchen to prepare your menu.
By the end of your lesson, you will have created an authentic and flavoursome five-course meal that incorporates staples of Ottoman cuisine, topped off with a round of refreshing drinks and coffee. From filling soups and hearty main courses, to varied meze platters and indulgent desserts, this is a chance to attempt a range of dishes unlike anything you have made before.
The Instabul Cooking School courses cost €50 and take place between 10:30-15:00 and 15:00-19:30 each day.
