Mikhail Bulgakov Museum in Kiev
One of the most creative streets in Kiev, St. Andrew's Descent, is just a 5-minute walk from Radisson Blu Hotel, Kyiv Podil. Souvenir shops, coffee houses, art galleries and murals are surrounded by architectural sights. The well-known literary-memorial museum of Mikhail Bulgakov is located in the house at number 13. The famous writer lived and worked in this house for 13 years from 1906 to 1919.
The museum fully reproduces the atmosphere and environment of the writer's life in those years - when he went to the Kiev school, was a student at the Kiev Medical University, wrote his world famous novels "The White Guard," "Master and Margarita" and "Theatre Love Story." In each room there are personal belongings, his books, postcards and photographs. The main part of the exhibition is located directly on the second floor, where Mikhail Bulgakov lived. The museum's collection consists of approximately 3000 exhibits, 500 of which are Bulgakov’s authentic things.
Every year, the family's Easter table is reproduced based on preserved interior photos. And on the 13th of each month, the museum arranges jour fixes, just like Bulgakov's family arranged.
