A trip up Titlis
Titlis is central Switzerland’s largest ski and snowboard destination. It has over 80km of slopes, providing access to the best winter sports from October to May every year. At 12km, Titlis’ longest run takes visitors down through 2000 metres of the Swiss mountains, with impressive panoramic views throughout. Ski, snowboard, hike the glacier, toboggan and more when vising this top attraction in Lucerne.
Skiing and snowboarding
Snow is guaranteed from December until April and there are pistes for all levels. At the top of the mountain lies a glacier, which has some harder runs, meaning the higher you go, the steeper the slopes. Once there is fresh snow, experienced skiers and snowboarders can go off-piste and find their own way down.
Explore Mount Titlis
To see this impressive mountain at its best, take the Titlis Rotair, the world’s first revolving cable car. You will need to go up three different cable cars before you come to the last leg to the top, which is completed aboard the Rotair. On the trip, see spectacular views across the area at 3020 metres above sea level, including incredible vistas of the nearby Mount Pilatus. At the Titlis Rotair station, you will also find the entrance to the glacier cave. The paths lead you deep into the heart of the glacier, bathing you in a glowing blue light as you navigate through the glass-like walls.
Titlis and the Lucerne region are not just for snow sports enthusiasts. During the summer, the mountain offers a wide range of hiking and cycling opportunities for those looking for an active day out, as well as glacier excursions, walks and mountain flower trails.
