Radisson Blu Hotel, Lund

Right in the center of Lund lies Lund University’s Botanical Garden.
The space here is dedicated to botany, horticulture, plant conservation and environmental awareness. Around 7,000 species of fauna dig their roots into the park’s rich soil, calling it home. On top of this, over half a million visitors come to enjoy them each year, but don’t worry, there is always space to be alone among the sun loving sprouts!
See stunning species at these Swedish Gardens
Ever since the gardens took up their new found home at the university in the late 1800s, the space has been well preserved, cultivating thousands of species. A walk along the greens will introduce you to plants from all across the world. The rock garden has species from a selection of Earth’s mountains, and you can find herbs and medicinal shoots, as well as a vegetable garden around the grounds. If you are a lover of flowers, see the famous Handkerchief Tree, whose buds look like tissue paper falling from its branches.
Head to the greenhouses and discover plants from countries near and far, from deserts to rainforests. Observe nature’s incredible diversity and learn about how plants adapt to the climate they grow in.

Fruits and flowering orchids share this home with exotic spices, ferns and palms. Due to the rich natural scene of this botanical beauty, a range of animals frequent the space. Squirrels, bats, bees, Chinese quails and more can be spotted among the leaves and flowers. The beautiful quails are very poor at flying so they have been given a comfortable home away from predators in the greenhouses.
Enjoy a ‘Fika’ at Kafé Botan
“Fika” is the meeting of friends or family over a warm drink or sweet treat and you can experience this at the garden’s café. Bite into a sweet treat after a spring walk scented with flowers. The coffee shop is run by Patisseriet, who are well known for excellent, homemade sourdoughs, cookies and cakes.
