Beach paradise in Mauritius

A choice of public beaches

As you explore the island, you will discover many delightful beaches along the way. Bras d’Eau is situated on a rugged part of the coastline. Although it is not ideal for swimming here due to the remains of volcanic rock, the beach and surrounding scenery are lovely. The area is a national park and walking trails make it easy to escape into the nature and enjoy vantage points over the island.

Belle Mare, located on the east of the island offers everything you want from a tropical island: blue sky, turquoise water, golden sandy beaches and a lovely climate. It can be crowded during the weekends but on weekdays it is the perfect place to relax and rejuvenate under the rays of the sun.

If you want be part of the action, visit Grand Baie (Bay), a tourist hub. This area has all the facilities you could wish for from shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants, as well as a bustling beach. Nearby, you will find La Cuvette, a quieter secluded area perfect for walking romantic coastal trails and getting away from the crowds.
