RADISSON BLU STRIVES TO BE A RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS
Taking responsibility for the environment and local community has been an important part of the broader commitment of the Radisson Hotel Group to sustainable development for many years. In 2001, this commitment was fortified and placed within the scope of a program called Responsible Business (RB). Each hotel has a unique RB Action Plan covering such areas such as community outreach, environmental improvement, employee well-being and health and safety.
Living Responsible BusinessAll staff members are required to complete the Living Responsible Business Program. The 3 main topics of this course are the 3 pillars of the Responsible Business Program: safety and security of guests and employees, social and ethical responsibility and ecological responsibility.
SocietySeveral times a year, the Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport organizes a barbecue in the woods for the residents of the Pigna institution, enabling a day full of experiences and adventures. In a forest cabin, a group of our staff members welcome their special guests, play games and entertain them for the day. This is an exciting change to their daily life. Together, they prepare the barbecue and enjoy a nice lunch offered by the hotel.
Animal CenterAnimals are also an important part of our society. Once a year, our team visits a nearby animal center to help feed and care them. They also go for a walk with the dogs.
World Clean Up DayAll Radisson Blu Hotels in Switzerland, including Basel, Lucerne, St. Gallen and Zurich Airport, and the Park Inn by Radisson Zurich Airport, take part in the clean up day. Together they remove waste from streets and banks.
Blu PlanetEach Radisson Blu Hotel tries to save as much water as possible by introducing several water-saving actions like reuse of towels or water-saving showers.Learn more about the initiative by visiting our website.
WATER FOR WATER: "Drinking Water & Giving Water"Unfortunately, clean drinking water isn't a privilege that can be taken for granted everywhere in the world. Approximately 1 billion people do not have access to clean water, and every year 3.5 million people die as a result of this problem. In Sambia, home country of the non-profit organization Water for Water (WfW), millions of people have to live without access to clear water. WfW's aim is to change this situation in long-term. Over 300 companys in Switzerland are giving tap water and have already donated more than CHF 750‘000.
We are one of those companys. The Radisson Blu Hotel, Zurich Airport promotes tap water consumption among its employees and supports Water for Water. Through this engagement, water and educational projects can be financed to ensure that thousands of people receive sustainable access to clean water in Sambia.
