Bord Gáis Energy Theatre
Bord Gáis Energy Theatre is based in the heart of Dublin city centre. The former Grand Canal Theatre was originally named after its prime location on the Quayside at the Grand Canal Dock.
Many large-scale theatre, musical and ballet productions were once held at the 3Arena in Dublin. However, as demand grew it became apparent that a new, purpose-built venue was required to house the city’s increasing number of musical shows. As a result, the Grand Canal Theatre was founded. In March 2012, the theatre changed its name to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
Dinner and a show
Dublin has gained a reputation for attracting major musical performances. The Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, which has a seating capacity of over 2000, has hosted many West End musicals, including The Lion King, Dirty Dancing, Cats, The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables.
