A visit to Esprit Arena
Sports concerts and business events
This stadium has hosted many prestigious sporting fixtures in its past. It was the home of the Rhein Fire of NFL Europe, hosted the Race of Champions motorsports contest, and has been the site of high profile boxing events. The Esprit Arena is also a popular venue for live music events, having hosted the Eurovision Song Contest 2011 and Bon Jovi's sell-out 'Have A Nice Day' tour. If you have booked yourself tickets to a concert here, then you are sure to enjoy the experience, with space for 50,000 people in front of the stage and a retractable roof that closes to lock in the sound. There are also plenty of food and drink vendors inside, so you won’t ever have to go hungry.
In addition to sporting and music events, the space can be hired out for events such as business meetings and functions. They offer corporate hospitality packages and have a number of different sized spaces available.
Getting to the Esprit Arena
The Esprit Arena is easy to reach from Dusseldorf's city center, as the stadium is serviced as part of the city’s urban rail line or 'Rheinbahn' (line U78). Rheinbahn trains heading to the stadium depart every 2-3 minutes. The price of a Rheinbahn ticket is often included in the ticket price of most events at the Esprit Arena but it is advisable to check before traveling. Typically, the journey to the stadium should take 15 minutes from the city center on the U78 service.
If you are looking for a hotel that offers easy access to the train, pick the Radisson Blu Scandinavia Hotel, Dusseldorf. It is just a short walk from the Rheinbahn station at Golzheimer Platz where guests can catch a U78 service to the Esprit Arena.
