Public transport in Oslo

As the capital city, Oslo is blessed with excellent public transportation. You can make your way around town by bus, ferry, metro or tram and the ticket applies to all these forms of transport (except the Bygdøy ferry). Tickets can be purchased at Ruter’s Customer Service Center (in front of Oslo Central Station), at most Narvesen and 7-11 shops as well as ticket machines at metro stations etc. There is also an app available. Single tickets are available on buses and ferries but these are much cheaper when bought in advance. The RuterBillett app is a convenient option, and you can even buy period tickets from the app.
