For history buffs
If you are interested in history, then the Estonian capital is the place to be. Tallinn's Old Town is overflowing with exciting ancient treats doused in remarkable stories from the past. If you only have a short amount of time in the old city, then head to the Town Square and see Town Hall and the beautiful buildings around. Then head to Kiek in de Kök and head up into the tower to check out the awesome wall surrounding the city. After that head down into the bastion tunnels found underneath the tower. Lastly, walk up the hill at Toompea and enjoy the view from the castle. These centuries old buildings are sure to take you back to a completely different world.
Even if your trip to Tallinn isn't for shopping, you will want to spend a bit of time checking out the stores. Grab a bargain at the four story Stockmann mall or head into the Old Town for some traditional souvenirs. Wander through the Viru and Muurivahe shopping streets and grab authentic items in St. Catherine's Passage.
For summer visitors
When the sun is out and you are in the mood to relax, make the short 15 minute drive to the beach. The white sandy beaches of Pirita provide great contrast to the hustle and bustle of Tallinn. The Pirita district also hosts many outdoor festivals and concerts, adding to the many choices of entertainment available in the area.
