Copernicus Science Centre
Copernicus Science Centre in Warsaw is the largest science centre of its kind in Poland, and one of the biggest in Europe. Be prepared to spend several hours on your visit or perhaps the whole day. That is how long it takes to explore over 400 interactive exhibits and displays. Visitors are also welcomed to conduct their own hands-on experiments.
Whether you are an adult, teenager or a younger child, Copernicus Science Centre has something for everyone. With over 20,000m² of floor space the learning opportunities are endless, whether you want to teach your children something new or refresh your own memory.
Explore, Discover and Experiment
Learn about many of the world’s natural phenomenon, many of which have simple explanations and some more in-depth. Visit the Generation exhibit to learn about the human body and genetics. The Lightzone display looks into crime and mystery. Put your senses to use in the Humans and the Environment exhibit.
Perhaps the biggest highlight of this exciting science centre in Warsaw is the Copernicus Planetarium. Gaze at the sky of Copernicus, travel into the universe, explore the deepest parts of the ocean or experience what it would feel like to be in a volcano. These are just some of the experiences you can have here.
The science centre is built on the banks of the River Vistula in central Warsaw and is not to be mistaken with the Palace of Culture and Science. The last mentioned is used primarily for conferences and concerts, and even though it is a stunning attraction, there is not much science to experience here.
On the river bank, visit the Park of the Discoveries and learn about how sound installations work and enjoy concerts and science films in the warm summer months.
The BUZZ children’s gallery opens up a world of exploration. Children of all ages can use their senses of sight, touch and smell to learn about the scientific world.
