Dublin Horse Show
The Dublin Horse Show is the largest equestrian event held in Ireland and is hugely popular with horse lovers world-wide. Running for five days in July, it brings together some of the best competitors in the sport to compete in a series of different classes and events. However, it’s not just about horses. There’s something for everyone, from great shopping and delicious food to live music and fantastic daily entertainment.
Experience equestrian excellenceExpect to see the best show horses and both national and international show-jumpers at the Dublin Horse Show. The show celebrates the Irish-bred horse on an international stage and aims to set the standard in horse breeding and performance. It’s an event rich in tradition, and also aims to create a marketplace for the horses.
A long and rich historyThe very first edition of the show in 1868 was one of the earliest "leaping" competitions ever held. Over time, the Dublin Horse Show has become a high-profile show jumping competition, with participants travelling from all over the world to show off their skills. It isn't just a competition, but also a major entertainment event in Ireland. Contestants compete in jumping divisions, exhibitions are held and there are several showing classes for the best horses to compete in. There are also classes for performance horses, ranging from ponies to working horses and more, plus equestrian entertainment.
Getting to the showThe event is held at the Royal Dublin Society's Main Arena, making it easy to access whether you're arriving by car or public transport.
