A unique contemporary space
The Fotografiska is located in an historical Art Nouveau building formerly used for industrial purposes. In fact, only the brick façade remains from the original building. The inside has been completely custom built to house the museum. The interior has 5,500 square meters of exhibition space as well as an academy, conference rooms and a shop and bistro.

All of the exhibitions have bi-lingual information for visitors and some also include films and other multi-media to enhance the impact of the works on display. Well-known photographers featured in exhibitions include David LaChapelle, whose work opened the gallery in 2009. Now 2013 sees the Fotografiska hosting the largest exhibition of LaChapelle’s work ever staged including over 250 images, music videos and film.
