Fotografiska

Experience fabulous photography at Fotografiska

Fotografiska is a unique museum in Stockholm, where contemporary photography lovers can enjoy four large and more than 20 smaller exhibitions each year. On your visit you can expect to see works by star photographers as well as new upcoming talent. In addition to the exhibitions, you can indulge in the book and souvenir shop as well as the restaurant. Situated in the top floor of the museum, Fotografiska’s restaurant provides some of the best views of Stockholm.

A center for contemporary art

Even though Fotografiska opened its doors in 2010, the idea was born in 1940. Court photographer Sundgren presented a proposal for a photography museum in Sweden. 70 years later it became the center for contemporary art that it is today. With more than 500,000 annual visitors, Fotografiska is one of Stockholm’s most popular reasons. With a Stockholm Pass entrance to the museum is free, so make sure to not miss out on this Swedish gem.

More than just a museum

In between viewing fantastic photographs you can enjoy Fotografiska’s book and souvenir store. Here, you can pick up a couple of mesmerizing photography books to bring home with you or to give as a gift to your friends and family. They also offer photography courses, lectures and workshops for beginning photographers as well as professionals.
