The Grand TourEspecially appealing to experienced runners, the Grand Tour is a scenic 1,800 meter route. The mostly shaded trail runs the gamut from challenging uphill sections to flat and downhill portions to add variety. Starting on the main road behind the statue of King Constantine, the path follows the right side of the park, passes the statue of the goddess Athena, and then circles in front of St. Charalambos. Follow the trail to the square Economides, the Geographical Army Services and the Church of Archangels. The trail ends on the street of statues.
Small Tour/Tour of RenewalThis smaller trail goes for 1,200 meters and begins just uphill from the main road behind the King Constantine statue. Take in the scenery of the lovely water path lined with trees, and then turn left onto the main pedestrian street. The next right takes you to the quiet, small square that is home to the monument of the Sacred Band. The trail finishes with a stint alongside rose bushes, pergolas and a little river. Finish your run with a downhill stretch on the palm street with the Statues of the Heroes of 1821.
You can also design your own route or wander the streets of the park to escape the hustle and bustle of the city.
WalkingWalking is a wonderful way to explore this redeveloped park. From dawn till nightfall, you can seek solace in this lush green space, undisturbed by cars. Stroll among the Statues of the Heroes of the 1821 revolution, then see the statues of King Constantine and Athena. You can also see the monument to the fallen British, Australian and New Zealanders.
CyclingThe park's 2010 redevelopment included the creation of an exciting cycling trail, enabling you to view the area from a unique perspective. Begin at the hotel and go toward the city center, and then stop for coffee or a shopping break, or simply cycle about the park. Cyclists can stop by the reception desk for information about bike rentals.
Picnics and RecreationTake some time from your schedule and utilize the hotel's take-away box service to bring your food to the park for an enjoyable meal in a lush green setting.
